The Oceanic VEO 3.0 Wrist Mounted dive computer starts to up the game by adding in more advanced functions such as an additional gas that can be switched to during the dive for accelerated decompression, optional deep stop function and a three button menu system whilst still providing the standard dive functions like nitrox support, optional PC/Mac interface and backlight as well as utilising our Dual Algorithm technology.
The Veo 3 uses a standard LCD segment screen that displays the dive information clearly over three sections of the screen. The screen has a nitrogen loading and variable ascent rate bar graph on either side of the main display for quick reference and information. The computer is fitted with our SmartGlo backlight that will only active the screen illumination in low light environments to help preserve the battery.
A second gas is supported that allows for accelerated decompression using an unrestricted gas mix of up to 100% oxygen and can be switched to during the dive at a depth that is safe for the oxygen content. A deep stop option can be enabled that will alert the diver to stop at a deeper depth to off-gas before the recommended safety stop (dive must be deeper than 25m).
As with all Oceanic computers the Veo 3.0 is installed with not one but two decompression algorithms that are optimised for different types of diving. One off deeper dives are supported by our Pelagic Z+ algorithm and offers better bottom times at the maximum depth of the dive. Repetitive, multi-level dives are better supported by our Pelagic DSAT algorithm which provides longer dives times over a period of repeat dives such as those experienced on a diving holiday. Each algorithm can be modified by adjusting the conservatism factor, allowing more control and mimicking of other brands of dive computer which is handy if your buddy doesn’t have an Oceanic computer.
The computer provides a wide range of audible alarms for events like maximum depth or maximum dive time but the audible alarms are reinforced with a LED that flashes to further attract the attention of the diver to important alerts displayed on the screen.
An optional interface cable can be purchased to transfer logged dive profiles to a PC or Mac for more permanent storage, printing and analysis. The software and interface cable also allow updates to be automatically downloaded over the internets and uploaded to the dive computer to improve performance, adjust menu layouts or even add functions.
Computers that are bought and registered in the UK are covered by a Lifetime warranty that protects the original owner against manufacturing defects and faults for the entire life of the computer. To maintain the cover we only ask that the unit is serviced annually by an authorised dealer or service centre who will update your service record. A free battery service kit will be provided to the service centre so you will only need to pay for the labour cost of the service. For more information regarding the warranty program please visit the Lifetime Warranty page
