PADI Tec 45

Who can enroll?
A mature, responsible person who will follow the required procedures and requirements strictly and faithfully
Medically fit for tec diving (physician’s signature required)
Willing to accept the added risks that Tec diving presents
Certified as a Tec 40 diver or provide a qualifying certification fromanother training organization. For the purposes of this level, a qualifying technical certification is one that qualifies the student to make limited decompression dives to 40 metres/130 feet using air and EANx using open circuit scuba equipment.
Certified as a PADI Rescue Diver or provide a qualifying certification from another training organization. For this course, a qualifying certification is proof of training in diver rescue. Students who meet this prerequisite through a qualifying certification must provide proof of training in CPR and First Aid within the previous two years.
Minimum age: 18 years.
Have a minimum of 50 logged dives, of which at least 12 dives were made with enriched air nitrox deeper than 18 metres/60 feet, and at least 6 (with or without EANx) dives were deeper than 30 metres/100 feet.
What's Involved?
The diver must use full ‘standardised’ tech rig, including wings and doubles plus an additional deco cylinder (note that side mounted cylinders are an acceptable alternative to back mounted doubles throughout the TecRec range).
The course allows the diver to go to 45 metres/145 feet and make accelerated decompression dives using any mix of EANx or pure oxygen.
A minimum of 4 dives will be required during the Tec45 course.
Training Dive One in Confined water or limited open water
Depths: 2.4 metres - 10 metres
Decompression: No stop only
Gases: Air or EANx, recommended that all blends be breathable at maximum dive depth
Training Dive Two in Open water
Depths: 12 metres - 18 metres
Decompression: No stop only
Gases: Air or EANx, recommended that all blends be breathable to maximum dive depth
Training Dive Three in Open Water
Depths: 18 metres - 30 metres
Decompression: No stop only
Gases: Air, Air, EANx or oxygen
Training Dive Four in Open Water
Depths: 27 metres - 45 metres
Decompression: Single gas decompression, gas switch for conservatism,
Gases: Air, EANx or oxygen
