PADI Assistant Instructor (AI)

Becoming a PADI Assistant Instructor takes you from Divemaster to a level of Teaching Scuba Diving to others with the back-up of a OWSI Instructor or higher.
Not sure if Instructing is for you? then the Assistant Instructor program give you the chance to teach without completing the full OWSI program. Look below at what you can do as an Assistant Instructor.

Who can take this course?

You need to be a PADI Divemaster or qualifying certification from another organization and be at least 18 years old and have 60 logged dives (with experience in night, deep and navigation) and proof of CPR/EFR first aid training within the last 24 months.

On completion of the Assistant Instructor Program you will be able to:
Teach the Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course.
Teach the Project AWARE Specialty course.
Conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences.
Teach the knowledge development, classroom, presentations under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor.
Evaluate the Open Water Diver Course surface skills under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor.
Teach Emergency First Response (EFR) courses after completing the Emergency First Response Instructor Course.

How long does it take?

Three complete days.

Self Study at home with knowledge review, quizzes lectures and presentations.
In confined water complete a skills review, a presentation assesment and a workshop.
In open water complete a rescue assesment another workshop and further presentation assesment.

Note: You must have a minimum of 100 logged dives to become a PADI Instructor
