EFR First Aid at Work re-qualification Course

Why take this course?

Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures as detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.

All people attending a requalification course must provide their existing first aid qualification prior to attending this
course, this must be within 3 years of lastcourse date. This is a Health and Safety Executive requirement .
If carried out prior to renewal daye and within three months the unexpired period can be credited to the certification duration.

Who can take these course?

This course is for candidates who have already taken a FAAW course and need to renew with a valid first aid at work (FAW) certificate.
This is a HSE approved and certified course.

What does this course include?EFR manual

- The role and responsibilities of the first aider
- Contents of Workplace First Aid kits
- Recording of incidents and accidents (RIDDOR)
- Assessing a workplace situation in an emergency
- Dealing with an unconscious casualty
- Assisting a casualty during and after an epileptic fit (seizure)
- Carrying out cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Assisting a choking casualty
- Dealing with a wounded or bleeding casualty
- Shock management and anaphylactic shock
- coping with minor conditions - including, minor burns and scalds, minor cuts, grazes, bruises and small splinters
- Handling injuries to bones, muscles, joints and suspected spinal injuries
- Poisoning
- Eye injuries
- Recognising the presence of major illnesses and providing adequate first aid care EFR leaflet

What's involved ?

This course takes 2 days to complete.
