EFR Emergency First Aid at Work Course

Candidates must be physically able to carry out the first aid procedures as detailed in the course outline and must attend
all the sessions to become eligible for assessment.
Prior to course commencement you will receive a training manual to read through.
This course is for candidates who require an emergency first aid at work (EFAW) certificate to comply with HSE requirements.
This is a HSE approved and certified First Aid Course.
- The role of the first aider
- Contents of workplace first aid kits (avoidance of cross infection)
- Communicating with a casualty
- Recording of incidents and accidents (RIDDOR)
- Assessing a situation and circumstances in order to act safely, efficiently and effectively in an emergency
- Administer first aid to an unconscious casualty
- Carrying out (CPR) cardio pulmonary resuscitation
- Dealing with a choking casualty
- Handling bleeding or wounded casualties
- Caring for a casualty who is in shock
- Handling minor conditions (minor burns & scalds, cuts, grazes, bruises and small splinters
Assesment of ability to render effective First Aid.
You will receive a Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Certificate that will be valid for 3 years.
