Three Day First Aid at Work certification course which meets the requirements of the HEALTH & SAFETY (FIRST AID) REGULATIONS 1981.
Candidates must be physically able to carry out the first aid procedures as detailed in the course outline and must attend all the sessions to become eligible for assessment.
Prior to course commencement you will receive a first aid training manual to read through.
This First Aid at Work course will include:
Your responsibilities as a First Aider – dealing with hazards, casualty safety, communication and delegation of helpers in an emergency CPR, resuscitation, dealing with a choking casualty, asthma, etc. Control and treatment of bleeding, wounds and care of, recognising and treating shock, management of an unconscious casualty, including head injuries, epilepsy etc.
You will understand first Aid box contents, personal safety and hygiene when treating wounds, recognition of different illnesses, treatment of injuries to bones, (fractures) muscles and joints, treatment of burns and scalds, minor injuries, treatment of eye injuries and eye irrigation, poisons.

All workplace first aiders will also be trained in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) meeting HSE’s requirements that come into effect on 31st December 2016, as the Resuscitation Council UK guidelines now state that the management of a casualty requiring CPR is to request an AED.
Throughout the course and at the end of the course delegates will undergo an assessment of both theory and practical knowledge. Successful delegates will be awarded a First Aid at Work Certificate that is valid for three years. The First Aid at Work Regulations state that a two-day refresher course must be undertaken before this certificate expires. If not completed before the three years expire a full three-day course will need to be taken again. Course fee’s for this course include student manuals and certification card on completion.
